Money Management Training
Take control of your financial situation!
This 2 hour introductory money management course has been specifically created for any adult who is seeking to take control of his or her financial situation. It can be used to reach financial goals (such as home ownership) or to overcome a financial challenge (such as debt). Money Sense teaches easy to follow, concrete lessons and is results-oriented with real life application. This class provides sufficient details, roadmaps, and handouts that make it easy for participants to incorporate learning into daily life. The goal is to empower our participants, to let them know they have the power to make choices and that those choices matter.
The Money Sense class teaches participants:
- The benefits of a budget mindset
- The merits of financial goals and a financial plan
- You will make financial goals and a financial plan
- Techniques to overcome money management thinking traps
- A step-by-step process to create, implement and stick to a budget
- You will make a rough draft budget
- You will go through an expense cutting exercise
- You will have a debt reduction list and plan
- How to make wise borrowing decisions
- You will understand the cost of credit and loans
- A system to keep important financial records
- How to avoid financial scams and traps
- How to distinguish between needs and wants
- The role and impact of credit reports and FICO scores
- How to receive your credit reports
- How to improve your credit score
Each class participant receives a comprehensive Money Sense Workbook that provides further learning and resources.
