Innovo
A Personal Financial Management Instructional Course by Consumer Education and Training Services (“CENTS”)
Welcome to INNOVO, CENTS' online personal financial management instructional course. (Innovo is latin for "to renew.")
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS VERY CAREFULLY.
1. INNOVO ONLINE CLASS OVERVIEW
You take this course AFTER you have filed for bankruptcy. If you do not have a bankruptcy case number, please do not take this course yet.
The INNOVO online course is two hours long and costs $30/person or $50/couple. You pay through the PayPal website (connected from our website) and you do not need to be a PayPal member or use a credit card. After you pay, you will automatically be sent a username and password to the email address you listed so type carefully. Please check the inbox and spam/junk folder of the email address you listed after you have paid. (Sometimes our emails are erroneously filtered into your junk or spam folders.) You can complete the course at your leisure; you do not need to complete it all in one sitting. Upon completion of this two hour online course, a certificate of course completion will be emailed to you within three days. When you complete the course, you will have another opportunity to list an email where you want us to send your certificate. You will want to check the spam/junk folders of that email as well when you are done with the course.
2. MAKE SURE THIS IS THE CORRECT CLASS
A bankruptcy filer must take
1) A credit counseling class BEFORE he or she files AND
2) A financial education class AFTER he or she files.
Innovo is the financial education class to be taken AFTER filing bankruptcy. If you have not filed and need to find an approved provider of the credit counseling class, please go to the website of the United States Trustee: www.usdoj.gov/ust.
Please contact us after you have taken that course and filed. Again, if you do not have a bankruptcy case number do not take our class yet.
3. MAKE SURE YOUR COMPUTER IS SET UP TO PLAY OUR COURSE
For this course to function properly your browser must meet certain standard specifications.
Please note that changing cookie and popup settings can affect the security of your computer and CENTS and KCBA cannot be held liable for any technical issues that may result from these changes. Please remember to reset your computer back to its original settings after you have completed our course.
Please note we offer phone and in person classes (in downtown Seattle) every other Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We have a limited amount of phone slots and the phone sessions are given at the same time as our in person classes.
IMPORTANT: In order for this course to function properly you must:
- Disable any pop-up blocking software or allow popups from www.kcba.org
- Have cookies enabled on your browser
- Have Javascript enabled on your browser
Additionally, it is strongly reccommended that this course be viewed using Microsoft Internet Explorer. Other browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, may not properly display all the course's content. For this course to function properly...
- You must have cookies enabled. This course utilizes cookies to track your progress. If you do not have cookies enabled the course will not function. To enable cookies click on "Tools" on your toolbar (at the top of your screen) and select "Internet Options." Click on the "Privacy" tab and set the slider to "Medium-high" or lower.
- Pop-up blockers must either be disabled or set to allow popups from this site. This class also utilizes pop-up windows to provide you with information and important navigational controls. Pop-up blockers will interfere with this functionality. To disable Internet Explorer's popup blocker, go to Tools / Internet Options / Privacy. Towards the bottom you can either disable the popup blocker entirely by unchecking the "Block Popups" box or under the "settings" button add www.kcba.org to your list of allowed sites for popups.
- Javascript must be enabled. These pages utilize Javascript, a common internet program, for many operations. Your browser will need to have Javascript enabled for these pages to function. In IE, go to Tools / Internet Options and click on the "security" tab. Make sure your level is set to "Medium" or lower to ensure Javascript is enabled. If your security settings are currently set to "custom," click on the "custom level" button. Scroll down the list of settings until you see the "Javascript" entries. Make sure they are all set to "enabled."
- Please Be aware of the information bar! IE uses a small information bar at the top of the window, right below the location bar (the bar that has the URL of the page you're visiting, usually starting with "http://..."). If this bar appears, usually accompanied by a sound, it may be trying to warn you that part of this page's functionality is being blocked. This site uses streaming video along with Javascript and depending on your security settings your browser may interfere with those components' operation. Click on the information bar to see an explaination of the message as well as options to deal with it.
Please note we can only provide limited support directly related to this online class. We will refund your payment if you are unable to complete the course. Please email if you are having an issue and we will resolve it.
